The story begins with a family who bought a diamond ring for the mother of the family, they placed the diamond ring in a small box and then wrapped it in a larger box and a larger box and a larger box and so on...
"The yogis teach that we, as human beings, are packaged much like diamond this diamond ring. We are at the core, divine consciousness, we are packaged in "boxes" of our experience, our conditioning, and our belief systems. These boxes are things like how we identify ourselves, what we believe to be true, our preferences and our dislikes, our fears, and imagination. All these boxes are informed by country, culture, gender, town, ancestors and family history, groups we belong to, and our personal experiences."
We often assume we are our boxes, but in reality we are the diamond ring. We are spiritual beings having a human experience.
Yoga teaches us to shed the boxes and see our reality as it truly is, the boxes are what cause us difficulties in our lives. When we can step into our true selves and move through the world without the hindrance of our skewed perception we find eased in our daily lives.
I have been trying to work on this in the past few years. When I fell dis-ease, I take time to really step into the situation and examine it for what it really is, take the time to see the situation with love. If I am feeling dis-ease instead of running from it, trying to push it away or getting my shackles up, I look at the dis-ease with love, accept that exists, often saying to the dis-ease, I see you, I hear you, I feel you, you are important, my experience has been that in accepting the dis-ease in allowing myself to feel the emotions without judging them as negative and giving the a moment of my undivided attention they simply melt away.
The reason I shared this is because there was a time I would have viewed the emotion as negative and I would have stayed stuck in my box. The negative connotation that I was giving the dis-ease is what was keeping me stuck and the negative was just a creation of my boxes!
So shine you crazy diamonds and allow yourself to be who you are. Accept, embrace, enjoy, who you are, a beautiful divine being, born to shine!!!
